From apprentice to industry leader, Rick’s journey in the electrical industry has been nothing short of incredible. At just 16, he began working as an apprentice on some of Sydney’s most iconic projects, including the Luna Park refurbishment. After completing his apprenticeship in residential projects, Rick broadened his horizons into industrial work, contributing to some of Sydney’s largest infrastructure projects. In 2017, Rick and his family relocated to Northern Rivers where he found his true calling—renewable energy. Starting as a member of the installation crew, he swiftly climbed the ranks to lead the NSW region for a major energy retailer.
As Director at Bare Energy, Rick channels his diverse experience to maintain a client-centric approach, fostering a culture of integrity and innovation. Outside of work, Rick is a devoted family man with four kids, two dogs and a cat. A former NSW state snooker champion (under 16’s) Rick enjoys music, mountain biking and golf. Rick lives by the philosophy that while the early bird may get the worm, it’s the second mouse that gets the cheese.
Director of Operations
The beating heart of Bare Energy, Debbie is a powerhouse in operations management. With a distinguished career spanning the manufacturing, restaurant, and retail sectors, she has led large teams through significant business transformations, including managing operations for McDonald’s during the Sydney and Beijing Olympic Games, where her teams received the prestigious ‘Circle of Excellence Team Awards.’ At Narellan Pools, Debbie implemented LEAN methodology, achieving substantial manufacturing cost savings and a 23% efficiency improvement.
In her current role, Debbie oversees the strategic and operational aspects of Bare Energy, driving growth and sustainability. Passionate about fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in renewable energy, she ensures that every client interaction leaves a positive impact. Outside of work, Debbie enjoys travelling, exploring new cultures, and spending time at the beach with her family and two lively labradoodles. These moments of adventure and connection are what keep her energised and ready to take on the next challenge.

Commercial Energy Consultant
A recognised leader in renewable energy, James Wallis brings over a decade of experience in the design, installation, and project management of solar and battery systems. Having personally wired over 10 megawatts of PV systems, James has delivered projects for the Department of Defence, public schools, shopping centres, hotels and iconic locations like the Australian Botanic Gardens and the Royal Botanic Gardens.
Known for his technical expertise and commitment to sustainability, James combines hands-on experience with a passion for innovation, helping clients achieve reliable, high-quality energy solutions. Over the years, James has established himself as a key figure in the Australian solar industry, actively participating in industry workshops and seminars, sharing his knowledge with aspiring solar professionals and advocating for sustainable practices in energy consumption. Beyond his work, James is an avid competitor in tennis, rugby and chess, showcasing his strategic mindset both on and off the field.
Energy Consultant & Electrician
Honed over ten years in the electrical field, Josh brings a wealth of hands-on electrical experience to Bare Energy. In the last three years, he’s channelled his expertise into the world of solar energy, crafting solutions that cut energy bills and carbon footprints alike. As an Energy Consultant and Electrician, Josh believes every home has the potential to make a positive impact on the environment.
Outside of work, Josh is a true adventurer at heart. Whether he’s catching waves, mountain biking through rugged trails, or carving down snowy slopes, he’s always seeking his next thrill. For Josh, life is about finding balance between work, nature, and the joy of adventure.
Energy Consultant & Electrician
As Bare Energy’s Head Designer, Nicholas blends technical expertise with a keen eye for detail to ensure every solar system design is flawless. Starting his career as an electrician, he quickly found his passion in the design aspect of renewable energy, where he now leads the charge in checking system designs, ordering materials and tackling challenges with innovative solutions. Nicholas is known for his meticulous approach, ensuring every detail is considered from start to finish.
Beyond his technical skills, Nicholas brings a sense of fun and competition to the team. His competitive nature drives him to constantly learn and improve, ensuring that Bare Energy’s designs are always top-notch. When he’s not solving complex design challenges, you’ll find Nicholas running, chasing waves, riding his motorbike, or enjoying a peaceful day of fishing.
Energy Consultant
With a background in education and fine arts, Ashlee joined the Bare Energy team in 2023. Passionate about customer support and communication, Ashlee works in the Client Care Team, and is all about creating real, human connections through customer support and project coordination. Known for her ability to make each client feel truly valued, she is driven by a genuine care for people.
Whether she’s nurturing client relationships, or getting lost in a good podcast or playlist on the way to work, Ashlee sees the joy of being fully present in the moment. When she’s not helping our clients, you’ll find her painting, making pottery, reading or spending time in nature.
Electrician & Team Leader
Nicholas Tibbotts is a seasoned electrician with eight years of experience in solar, residential, commercial and industrial electrical work. As a Team Leader at Bare Energy, Nicholas is committed to ensuring that every installation is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standard. He approaches each job with the mindset that if it isn’t up to the standards he’d expect in his own home, it isn’t good enough for his clients.
Nicholas is dedicated to keeping communication open throughout the installation process, making sure that every client is informed and satisfied with the final result. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys keeping fit, playing and watching sports, especially following the All Blacks, and hanging out with his mates. A keen cook, he loves both preparing and indulging in good food.
Client Care Team
Marrit brings a rich and varied background to Bare Energy’s Client Care Team. Motivated by her philosophy: “Strive to become a person of value, rather than a person of success”, Marrit has worked in diverse roles, from managing corporate and social events to providing care for individuals with physical disabilities. Each role she’s held has added a new layer of expertise, which she now channels into managing customer inquiries, scheduling and back-office support at Bare Energy.
A recent graduate with a Bachelor of Business Commerce, Marrit has always enjoyed having a variety of jobs to take a little bit of knowledge out of each one to use in her everyday life. Outside of work, Marrit enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog and daughter, staying active with running and gym sessions, and unwinding with a good podcast.
Social Media Manager
Rachel Peet is a passionate individual with a diverse background. After completing her education at Mater Maria on the Northern Beaches, Rachel explored various career paths, including real estate, vet nursing, and bookkeeping. However, her most fulfilling role has been as a stay-at-home mum, raising her four children.
Currently, Rachel is involved in social content creation and administrative tasks at a company. She enjoys assisting the Managing Director and other staff members with their daily operations. In her free time, Rachel finds joy in walking, reading, spending time at the beach, and gardening. Her cactus collection, in particular, holds a special place in her heart.
