3-4 Year Apprentice Electrician

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in residential and commercial solar PV + battery installations under the supervision of licensed electricians.
  • Learn and apply best practices for DC and AC wiring, switchboards, and metering setups.
  • Read and interpret electrical plans and schematics related to solar and battery systems.
  • Assist in testing, commissioning, and fault-finding on PV and battery systems.
  • Support the installation team with site preparation, component mounting, and wiring.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all workplace health and safety (WHS) guidelines to minimize risks and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Comply with Australian electrical standards (AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 5033, AS/NZS 4777, and AS/NZS 4509) and relevant industry codes.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures to prevent electrical hazards.
  • Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures when working on live circuits.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Report any safety incidents, near misses, or non-compliance issues immediately.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of electrical components and hazardous materials.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • 3rd or 4th-year electrical apprentice currently completing a Certificate III in Electrotechnology.
  • Passion for renewable energy, solar, and battery storage systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow directions.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative in problem-solving.
  • Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • White Card and Working at Heights certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Driver’s license (preferred but not essential).
