Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise and support a team of technicians and apprentices to complete solar installations effectively.
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to develop team skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a strong safety culture by enforcing safe work practices and conducting toolbox talks on a regular basis, such as weekly or as required by site conditions.
  • Ensure team members adhere to company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.

Installation & Technical Oversight

  • Oversee and participate in the installation of solar PV systems, battery storage, and EV chargers.
  • Ensure all installations meet relevant electrical and safety standards.
  • Conduct site assessments and troubleshoot technical issues as required.
  • Liaise with the Installation Manager, clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Perform quality checks on completed installations and address any defects or issues.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, including job reports, system commissioning, and compliance certificates.
  • Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure correct materials are delivered to site.

Client Interaction & Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact on-site for clients, addressing concerns and providing updates.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure smooth scheduling and project delivery.
  • Provide guidance and information to clients on system operation and maintenance.

Administrative & Documentation Responsibilities

  • Update job management applications to ensure accurate tracking of project progress and completion.
  • Complete all relevant documentation required for claiming rebates and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Maintain thorough records of installations, service reports, and quality assurance documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Mandatory:
    • Valid Electrical Licence (for licensed electricians).
    • Experience in solar PV installations.
    • Strong understanding of Australian electrical and safety standards.
    • White Card (Construction Induction Card).
    • Working at Heights certification.
  • Preferred:
    • CEC Accreditation (desirable but not required for non-accredited electricians).
    • Experience in team leadership or supervisory roles.
    • Battery storage and EV charger installation experience (Highly valued; preferred but will be considered a strong advantage for candidates).
